This HEI distributor conversion for a variety of small block and big block V8 engines found on 1962-1974 Corvettes enhances the spark being sent to the combustion chambers for improved starting, fuller fuel burning and a prolonged spark plug life. An easy to install conversion for various 1962-1974 Chevrolet Corvette engines May not be compatible with high rise or aftermarket manifolds Stock distributor heat shielding must be removed (Heat shield not required for HEI ignition system)  Efficient, one-piece design incorporates 4340 hardened steel cam gear Requires HEI-type 1975-1982 Corvette spark plug wire Includes mechanical tachometer drive HEI distributor bolts in place and connects easily with 12-volt power lead
