Pinky and the Brain was the first animated television series to be presented in Dolby Surround. It was created by Tom Ruegger and the fourth collaboration between Steven Spielberg's production company, Amblin Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation. The characters first appeared in 1993 as a recurring skit on the show Animaniacs. Thanks to its popularity it was later spun off as a series. There were 66 episodes produced.
