Fabulous and classic 100% silk vivid teal blue and sea green satin-stripe flowing, superb late 70's-early 80's dress, this like-new beauty is just scrumptious with its exquisite bright hand-dyed-look overprint on satin-striped and sheer silk chiffon. The Silk Farm dresses were sold in only the top high-end stores back in the day, and famous for their exquisite designs and colors. Such a timeless, beautiful and wearable style, very classic in silhouette with long sleeves, a draped cowl-style neck at the front, full drapey sleeves with cuffs and a gently gathered skirt with a matching wide scarf sash; this one has the original separate underslip of rich sea green pure silk crepe. It's like a gorgeous butterfly and floats just as lightly..Silk Farm dresses are highly sought after by vintage clothing collectors because of the high quality of the silk fabric and wonderful flowing designs; this is a prime example and in excellent condition! I love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, as well as having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums.I've translated that love to my own contemporary creations as well as now offering some choice pieces of my extremely large collection of vintage and antique beauties!

Marked vintage size 12, Measurements of this delicious dress are as follows, please be sure you note the measurements of the crepe underslip as well.

Bust max: up to about 38, no larger than that; Slip bust measures 36 max.
Waist: Max 38, elastic is in good shape and still stretchy.
Hip: free on the dress, full gathering; hip measurement on the slip is 40.
Skirt length from waist is approx. 32, keep in mind this may fall shorter on longer depending on the size of one's hips
Length is 54 from shoulder to hem; this fits and drapes SO beautifully on the body, as you can see. Mannequin is approx. 5' 6 and a modern size 6/8 (36-26-36); this dress fits the mannequin nicely, I believe a size 8 and maybe a 10 could wear it as well.

Pull over style, fastens at back neck with one button, has three buttons on each cuff.

Condition: Excellent unworn condition on both the dress and the slip, I don't see any flaws, bright and clean, no spots, stains, rips or snags, no signs of any wear. Label is intact The Silk Farm label, plus marked a size 12. Matching scarf belt in perfect condition too.
