Sew your own ecological and reusable period panties! These are a great alternative to traditional disposable tampons and pads. If you make the gusset using a good absorbent fabric, they will give you an extra protection against leakage and keep your skin dry. You can also use your reusable period panties as an addition to a moon cup or reusable pads. Watch the instruction video The gusset length in Maxi version is about 34,5 cm/13,5''. The gusset comes about 5 cm/2'' higher on the front piece of the panties than in the previous version of this pattern. That's why the gusset is also more visible in front but it may give you better protection during your period. However, if you wish to sew panties with a shorter gusset in front, please refer to the older version of this sewing pattern (with the gusset length of 29 cm/11,4'').
