Indian fashion designers have effortlessly fused traditional ajrak with modern tastes.Anyway what is the meaning of Ajrakh?A fabric that has derived its name from the sanskrit word ‘A-jharat’ or ‘that which does not fade’. ‘Azrak’, the Arabic word for blue could have also played a role in its etymology because of extensive use of indigo in the process.Early settlers in Sindh and India in 3300 BC, who lived along the Indus river, found it conducive for the growth of cotton and indigo plants that grew close by on its banks.
